From bump to baby to toddler.
Today I saw this dude, E finished his My First Year scheme. A little later than most do, but we have reached the end of a 3 year relationship, with hundreds of memories captured by me and my camera.
His parents first came to me for maternity portraits to photograph the bump. Like many parents, they have their own story of heartache but, needless to say their achievement in becoming parents at last is one that makes these particular people so much more than customers. To share their journey has been incredible.
It is a massive privilege to photograph families, especially from the start of them telling their story. You see the story develop right in front of your eyes, as the portrait photographer you capture the deepest of feelings within the thoughts of your subject.
A few short weeks after the maternity shoot, baby E arrived and was brought to the studio for his first shoot. Nervous parents, preciously cradling their newborn son, I gently laid him in a soft , supportive cushion to photograph him
Then, it was time for the second shoot, this time at home for intimate portraits of him at play at home.
It was a while until I saw Baby E again, for his final shoot. This time, on location at a local beach. For Baby E, who was now toddler E, to run about and have some family fun.
He's grown, eh? He's such a cool dude. Can't wait to photograph him again. Thanks D & T.. xx
The family now lives in Thailand. But are often in my thoughts. I regularly see posts of E’s progress on his mothers facebook page.
